White Sox Get Jered Weaver $6 (6) (From Diamondbacks ) Jason Motte $1 (4) (From Cubs) Starlin Castro $.5M (2) (From Cubs) Alex Avila (3) ($1 Mil) (From Cubs) Drew Stubbs $1 (3) (From Cubs) Diamondbacks 4th Round Pick for 2012 (From Diamondbacks)
Cubs Get Joe Mauer..........$0 2018 (From White Sox) Adam Jones..........$1 (3) (From White Sox) Emserling Vazquez $1 (3) (From Diamondbacks) Mark Reynolds $1.2 (5) (From Diamondbacks) Alex Gonzalez 2011(payed for by mariners) Detroit 3rd Round Pick (From White Sox) Giants 4th Round Pick (From White Sox)
Cubs accept to get the best catcher in the game. Jones is very close to Stubbs. Reynolds could bounce back. And the picks are always nice.

Accept. Upgrade at CF, SS and I get an ACE!!! Now my pitching is strikeout city with Verlander and Weaver. Lose the best catcher in the game but don't want to pay $20m in 2012 and $23m beyond that.

I think Cubs is the big winner in this one. Great job by them.
White Sox have been looking to deal Mauer for awhile now and they finally are able to deal him for that ace they've been looking for so solid deal for them.
As for D-Backs, I don't really get it. They take a huge downgrade at SP, for small upgrades at 3B, SS, and RP. Personally I actually think Reynolds will be pretty close to Bautista this season. That's not even mentioning that Bautista's an upcoming FA though.
Not vetoable at all though.
Approve.

Veto. Dbacks is getting destroyed in this deal. White Sox gets a top 10 pitcher, a young stud SS, a young stud OFer, Cubs gets the best catcher in the MLB, a great HR hitter, and a decent OFer. Dbacks loses two of his best players to get a possibly one-year-wonder-soon-to-be FA, and some role players. You guys need to throw some prospects or picks Dbacks way if you want his team to be competitive at all in our league.

I think both Chicago teams rip the Diamondbacks, but not vetoable as Tigers said.

Bautista isn't an FA. He gets his real life contract or at least the cubs said that in chat a couple of days ago. Weaver is also an FA.

Bautista isn't an FA. He gets his real life contract or at least the cubs said that in chat a couple of days ago. Weaver is also an FA. You will have the option to take on his new contract or release him into FA, your choice. And he just signed a new deal so you will definetly havethe option.

Yeah you're the middle team. Cubs gets the best deal and Dbax gets the worst deal imo. Solid deal for you.

Approve.
Though I do agree with most that the Cubs come out as winners, I am a firm believer in pitching. Weaver is a stud. If Bautista doesn't hit 35+ homers this year, then we can say D-Backs get killed in this deal.

Arizona takes a big hit by losing Weaver. You really shouldn't lose that type of pitcher without at least getting a really good #2 and Kennedy is nowhere near that yet. But other than that this isn't so bad.
I approve
